China Is Using Robot Dogs As Firefighters

Unitree, a Chinese robotics firm has developed specialised fire rescue robots for fire fighting and emergency response operations. These robot dogs have special features to like powerful water canon which can shoot water upto 60 ltrs per second with adjustable angle between 5° to 85°.

The robots also includes visualization platform with long distance video streaming capabilities which will help remote team to access the situation and make decisions. It also has quick swap waterproof battery system which makes it more flexible to do it’s task. C

These technological advancements are already being implemented in real-world scenarios. The Qingdao Firefighting and Rescue Support Team has officially deployed two of these robots, while others have been utilized in forest fire response exercises and simulated underground fire drills, where they’ve demonstrated their ability to access scenes via elevators and perform environmental reconnaissance across multiple levels.
