China just approved the first commercial license for flying taxis. Two companies Hefei Heyi Aviationand Ehang can now operate autonomous passenger drones, certified by CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China).
These vehicles uses propulsion engine and are designed to takeoff and land vertically to transport passengers in urban areas which could be solution for faster travel and reduce traffic. These vehicles are supposed to work like helicopter but they will be affordable and and quieter and safer in urban areas.
History of Flying Taxi:
The concept of flying taxi was introduced in mod 2010s. The first announcement about flying taxi was done in 2016 by EHang company. they have a successful public demonstration in 2018. Through which people believed that it is possible to travel aerially in cheaper prices than helicopter.
XPeng has also participated in the race of flying taxi 2021. They have achieved this innovation because of supportive chinese government. As we all know China is supposed to be too far from the rest of world in the field of technology, Ai, Inventions.
